Hong Kong Oxygen & Acetylene Co Ltd (HKO) is a member of world・s largest gases and engineering company, The Linde Group (Germany), and the only manufacturer of industrial and medical gases in Hong Kong. Since its establishment in 1959, it has supplied industrial, medical and special gases and a wide range of related products, services and equipment to many sectors of Hong Kong・s industry and community.
1919 : Far East Oxygen & Acetylene Co Ltd (FEO) was founded by L・Air Liquide Group of France. The production plant was located in To Kwa Wan.
1946 : China Oxygen & Acetylene Co Ltd (COAC) was founded by BOC (British Oxygen Company) Group Plc. of the United Kingdom. The production plant was located in Ma Tau Wai Road.
1959 : Hong Kong Oxygen & Acetylene Co Ltd (HKO) was incorporated on 12th Nov 1959.
1961 : BOC Group Plc. acquired and injected COAC・s assets and business into HKO.
1962 : BOC Group Plc. disposed 50% of HKO・s share to L・Air Liquide Group in return for the assets and business of FEO. HKO became a 50/50% joint venture company between BOC Group Plc. & L・Air Liquide Group on 7th June 1962.
1985 : Taipo plant was opened on 10th Dec 1985.
1991 : Taipo plant・s air separation unit started operation on 17th May 1991.
1996 : The new plant in Tsueng Kwan O Industrial Estate was opened on 12th Mar 1996.
2006 : BOC Group Plc. was acquired by The Linde Group on 5th Sep 2006.
2007 : The Linde Group purchased L・Air Liquide・s interests in HKO. HKO became a fully owned member company of The Linde Group on 27th Apr 2007.
